Top Ten Essential Bodybuilding Supplements

The first bodybuilding supplement that is essential is calcium. Calcium is the probably the most important supplement because it is essential for bone development, it's helps relax tired muscles to avoid cramping and it also aids fat metabolization.

The second bodybuilding supplement is Creatine. Most bodybuilders use creatine at one time or another. Creatine is found naturally in the human body, but there is not enough in the human body to create the muscles a bodybuilder is looking to achieve. Taking creatine supplements will increase the available creatine in your body which will result in more phosphocreatine that is available for your muscles to use for energy and power. Creatine also volumizes your muscles, making them bigger and harder.

The third and next bodybuilding supplement is Whey Protein Isolate. Whey Protein Isolate comes from dairy milk and using Whey Protein Isolate will provide a high concentrate of amino acids. Whey Protein Isolate can also be used as a substitute for a quick and easy meal or you can add it to your favorite food as a supplement.

The fourth bodybuilding supplement is Fish Oils. Fish Oils are a great source of Omega-3 which is a very important fatty acid. Omega-3 fatty acid helps to maintain a healthy heart, brain and nervous system and also keeps joint inflammation down and helps the joints remain flexible.

The fifth of the essential top ten bodybuilding supplements are antioxidants. Antioxidants help the body to rid itself of free radicals though a process called oxidation. Antioxidants bind themselves to active receptor sites and neutralize the free radicals that cause damage to your body. The most common antioxidants are found in tomatoes, green tea extract and grape seed extract.

The sixth essential bodybuilding supplement is Arginine. Arginine is an amino acid. The human body does not make it naturally, so taking a supplement is essential. Arginine is involved in hormone secretion, helps with sexual function and has the ability to produce nitric oxide. This helps with the vasodialation of the blood vessels which helps the muscles repair themselves and grow.

The seventh bodybuilding supplement one should take is Beta-Alanine. Beta-Alanine is a non-essential amino acid. Beta-Alanine helps to increase the levels of Carnosine in the muscles. Carnosine helps to neutralize the acid build-up in the muscles so that one can train longer before getting fatigued.

The next and eighth bodybuilding supplement available is Leucine. Leucine is an essential amino acid and is one of the most important amino acids for a bodybuilder to use because of its anabolic properties. A Low Leucine concentration in the body means that no new skeletal muscle protein will be created.

Number nine of the top ten essential bodybuilding supplements is Glutamine. This is another amino acid that is found in the human body in large quantities. Glutamine increases protein metabolism and is an aid to recovery in the body.

The last of the top ten essential bodybuilding supplements is Green Tea. Green Tea extract helps to increase energy and also has an effect on oxidizing fat in the body. Many supplements contain Green Tea extract but not all contain the correct amounts of EGC G which is the chief ingredient in Green Tea that gives the body the energy it needs to build muscle.
