Why Sweet Potatoes are Good for Bodybuilding

Bodybuilders are always looking for the best way to bulk up their bodies with as much muscle as possible. Carbohydrates are an absolute must when it comes to bulking up ones body. Sweet potatoes are loaded with carbs to help your body bulk up but have a nice sweet taste to provide a nice and sweet treat when dieting. An average large sweet potatoe contains about 37 grams of carbohydrates. They also provide key vitamins and minerals that benefit bodybuilding. They contain vitamin C, potassium, manganese, and vitamin b6. The vitamin c in the yams can help sooth muscle soreness. The sweet potatoes provide lots of potassium that help prevent muscle cramps and also helps improve muscle functions. Eating one large sweet potato can provide you with 25% of your daily potassium needs. The vitamin B6 found in sweet potatoes help aids in the metabolism of amino acids and protein so your muscles can develop faster.

Bodybuilding Sweet Potato Recipes

A great secret to bodybuilding is the sweet potatoes. They contain so many nutrients and carbohydrates to really benefit your bodybuilding. With so many different ways to prepare your sweet potatoes, they can be a great snack or even a meal! When eating the sweet potatoes it would be a good idea to eat the skin sometimes because it provides a lot of the nutrients . To eat sweet potatoes you can eat them just as you would a baked potato.

For a bit of a fancier sweet potatoes you can boil chunks of sweet potatoes for about five minutes or until they are soft but still firm. When that is done drain the water and two cups of pour orange juice over the sweet potatoes and then put them in a large frying pan and proceed to sauté them with some onion and rosemary!

Bodybuilding Sweet Potato Fries

You can also make sweet potatoes fries, to do this you slice the sweet potatoes into the typical French fry shape you preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Then you need to put aluminum foil on a baking sheet and apply a zero calorie non-stick spray and then place your sweet potatoes fries onto the tray. You bake them for about 15 minutes, and once they are done you have a nice sweet potatoes treat!
