Why am I losing muscle mass?

Posted by: amateur bodybuilder

I am a 23 year old 6 ft 2 inches amateur bodybuilder. I have been going to the gym for almost two years now. I started off a chubby 160 and now I'm about 200 lbs. Recently at weigh ins I have been noticing, me loosing mass. When i weighed in on the 3/8 I was 197.4 lbs. When I weighed in on the 4/11 I was 199.8 lbs. When I weighed in today the 28/12 I was 199.6. What could be the cause of me loosing weight ?

A loss of .2 of a pound is not at all significant; also it could be water, fat, etc. only a body composition test would show if the loss was really muscle.

But if you are losing muscle mass there could be many reasons:

1) Over training in the gym.

2) Under training or skipping workouts.

3) Not getting enough protein or calories in your diet.

4) Over doing cardio.

I help this helps,

Paul
