There are several things you can do to increase the healthiness of
your body. By consistently employing these tips you increase your
health and the chances that you live longer.
You can instantly inprove your diet by increasing your fiber intake.
A good healthy intake of fiber is in the 25-35 gram a day range,
while most people only get 12 or so grams a day.
Fiber is a key element from keeping you from becoming overweight and
unhealthy. Fiber acts to curb your appetite and help digestion.
Simply doubling your fiber intake really enhances your health.
Another simple trick is to increase your water intake. Many people
are semi-dehydrated most of the time and this is true even for
athletes. Pumping up your water intake pumps up your health.
Sure you need more water – but how much? A good rule of thumb is to
take .6 ounces for every pound you weigh. So a 200 pound guy would
want to take 120 ounces a day while a 100 pound lady would only need
60 ounces. But remember – this amount is needed every day.
Many people eat the same foods over and over again, and often have
drab colored food intake. However, the more colorful your food
intake, the better your diet (provided, of course, the food is
natural and not dyed). Greens, orange, yellow, red and purple foods
in the form of fruits and veggies give you a wider palate of
nutrition for your body to work with.
Do you like orange juice? If so, get it fresh squeezed as the
commercial brands use a preservation process that isn't necessarily
all that healthy for your body. Going fresh squeezed insures you
are getting your vitamin C and potassium in the most natural state.
This is true for all foods- the fresher you can get it, the better.
Real food is much better than vitamins and supplements so center
your primary eating on the real deal.
Too many people center their training on just weight lifting and
miss out on the necessity of moving the body around frequently.
Moving the body is simple but many people opt for the couch potato
effect. Instead, start moving your body more. This may be something
as simple as power walking or jogging but there is a real necessity
to get beyond the weights if you want all-around optimal health.
