Fat Burning Cardio Duration

How long should you do cardio for fat loss? Twenty is a number you want to know well if you are aiming at losing fat. That's because 20 minutes is the mark where your body starts to burn more fat for fuel than carbs. Before 20 minutes of exercise is performed you aren’t burning much fat at all. So someone who runs out at gets in a 20 minute session is just reaching the starting gate, at least where fat loss is concerned. The training must be non-stop cardio to ensure that fat is starting to become the fuel source. This means exercise sufficient to cause the cardio/aerobic effect. 20 Minute Minimum The 20 minute mark is just the starting point, the minimum. You won't burn much fat at 20 minutes. You need to get beyond 20 minutes for your fat burning to have some effect. You should view the 20 minute mark as the starting point for fat loss. Naturally that means you need to do more than 20 minutes each and every time you work out. Longer Session You can really burn a high percentage of body fat with a much longer workout. Studies show that workouts lasting longer than 60 minutes are burning almost all fat instead of carbs so take advantage of the long workout effect tor a big fat burn. If you can do at least one long workout a week you will be in great shape as well, reaping the cardio benefits. Being aware of the 20 minute hurdle is the first step in successful cardio for fat loss. Then you need to do it – to go beyond 20 minutes to get the fat burning effect going.
