Steve Reeves Bicep Workout

steve reeves biceps
Steve's Simple Biceps Tactic Steve Reeves was known for his perfect proportions, but he also had a pair of great biceps. Steve was one of the biggest names of his era, with a wide physique. He also had great arms, including impressive biceps. He didn't perform a lot of biceps exercises, but what he did really built the biceps up fast. Steve would use a lot of incline dumbbell curls, performed with perfect form, on a consistent basis. One of Reeve's trademarks was adherence to strict form. Reeves would often pair dumbbell incline curls with barbell curls, and that was the pairing he would use to train the biceps. Steve had one specific tactic when performing curls that really delivers a massive, massive pump in the biceps. He didn't perform a lot of sets, so he had to squeeze a lot out of the few sets he did use. To do so, to create intensity with just a few sets, Reeves would curl the barbell or dumbbell up in the normal fashion like everyone else, but he would lower the bar down slowly on each repetition. Instead of just dropping the bar quickly down in the standard fashion, Reeves would put the brakes on an get somewhat of a modified negative action with the curls. Lowering the bar slowly, at about half the normal speed of the downstroke, keeps tension high on the biceps and when matched with the workload on the upstroke, a few sets will set the biceps on fire. Reeves' biceps blowout tactic is a great way to quickly put a massive pump into the biceps. If you only have a short amount of time to get in your biceps training, try using the slow down stroke technique and watch how your biceps swell up to a large size very fast.
