Many bodybuilders wonder just when to take bodybuilding supplements. There are so many formulas out there, and it can get very confusing. Amino acids, protein powders, creatine - they are all great, and do make a huge difference in the lean muscle mass you gain. But, when do you take your bodybuilding supplements? This information will clear things up a bit.

Best Time to Take Bodybuilding Supplements

The best time to take bodybuilding supplements depends largely on which supplement you are taking. For example, creatine is best taken about 1/2 hour before a workout and then again right after you finish your workout. Other than that, you can take another creatine serving or two at any time that is convenient for you throughout the day.

Glutamine seems to be most effective when taken right before bed time. While the best time to take bodybuilding supplements may differ for some people, for most a routine schedule works best. With glutamine, growth hormone levels rise significantly if you take 5 grams before retiring for the night. Taking them first thing in the morning is also good. Some bodybuilders also take it about 30 minutes after working out, due to the recuperation process needed after an exerting and demanding workout.
