We need to take a closer look at exactly what a steroid is and how they are directly affected by the specific job that they do. Steroids can basically be broken down into two different categories. The first of these is the anabolic steroids whose sole purpose is to promote generation of new cells and promote rapid cell growth.
The second type of steroid is the androgynous steroid which is responsible for producing masculine traits in the body, such as facial hair growth and a deepening of the voice. Most steroids are both anabolic and androgenic. This is very different from creatine, which essentially, increases ones energy during performance by increasing ATP production.
But creatine although very different to steroids is often mistaken as a steroid. Unlike steroids, creatine is safe as long as it is taken in the right dosage.
Creatine is actually the combination of methionine, arginine, and glycine. All of the said amino acids came from the liver. It is said that almost all of the creatine can be found at the different muscles in the body, stored until it is needed for future use.
Creatine will most likely never be banned because it is something that although synthetically produced still has not shown to produce any harmful or irreversible side effects. There are many other specific criteria that the FDA use to isolate the category of a substance and that is been constantly monitored by the Administration.
