Deep squat vs shallow squat

Posted by: Steve

I am 62 years old and lift for fitness and weight loss. Having two artificial hips and a lifetime of poor flexibility, my squat depth is horrible. I've only started doing squats again in this last year. My question is which would be better for fitness and weight loss, low weight high reps squats with fair depth or heavy weight, really poor depth squats?

I would suggest the lower weight higher rep with the depth just below parallel.

Best,

Paul
