Sports Nutrition Recipes

Here are some great sports nutrition recipes, sports drink recipes and other recipes for sport and fitness nutrition.

Basic Sports Drink Recipe

Ingredients include 1 quart of water, 3 tablespoons raw honey, 1/4 tablespoon salt and some type of fruit juice for flavoring.

Keep it refrigerated and you are good.

Fruit and Nut Nutrition Bar Recipe

The ingredients include 1/2 cup walnut pieces, 1/2 cup slivered almonds, 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds, 1/2 cup roasted sunflower seeds, 1/2 cup seven-grain cereal, 1/2 cup cashews, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup of dried cranberries, 1/2 cup shredded coconut, 3 tablespoons raw honey, 1 cup dry quick oats, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, and 3/4 cup molasses.

Mix the ingredients into a bowl. Add the molasses and stir until they are combined. Press mixture onto a 9 x 16 cookie sheet. Bake at 275 for 35 minutes then allow to cool and cut into bars.

Banana Bread French Toast Recipe

The ingredients include 2 cups all purpose flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, pinch of salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1/4 cup canola oil, 2/3 cup nonfat milk, 1 egg lightly beaten, 1 tsp vanilla, and 2 small ripe mashed bananas.

Make the egg batter with three eggs, 1/2 cup nonfat milk, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Preheat the over to 350 and coat the pan with some nonstick spray. In a large bowl mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In a medium bowl mix the canola oil, milk, egg, and vanilla. Add to the bowl with the with the wet ingredients and add in mashed bananas. Pour the batter 2/3 into a loaf pan and cook 55-65 minutes. Slice 14 pieces. Mix egg batter and stick pieces in batter and coat both sides. Cook on stove tell lightly brown.

Chocolate Bran Muffin Recipe

Ingredients include 3 cups all bran cereal, 2 1/2 cups water, 1 box brownie mix, and 1 1/2 tsp baking powder.

Preheat the over to 350. Pour cereal into bowl, cover with water and let sit for five minutes. Add the brownie mix and baking powder. Pour into twelve muffin cups or tins covered with non stick spray. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until you can stick a toothpick into the center and have it come out clean.
