1990s Bodybuilding Supplements

bodybuilding supplements in the 1990s

Posted by: Paul

Some people say that the 1990s was a golden age for bodybuilding supplements, with many new and innovative products being released during that decade. This forum post explores some of the most popular bodybuilding supplements of the 1990s and how they helped athletes reach their peak performance. This post will take you back in time to when bodybuilding supplements became an exciting and integral part of training. So strap on your weightlifting belt and get ready to take a trip down memory lane.

Cybergenics

The Cybergenics Total Bodybuilding System was an innovative workout, diet and supplement program designed to help build muscle, burn fat, and increase overall fitness. Cybergenics claimed it was a scientifically-proven program that could help you to quickly and efficiently reach your desired level of physical fitness and appearance. Cybergenics was the most popular supplement brand in the 1990s and many still say it helped them to gain strength, build muscle, and get ripped in only 60 days.

Hot Stuff

Hot Stuff was another very popular bodybuilding supplement of the 1990s, it claimed to be a unique blend of high-quality ingredients that are proven to help build muscle, decrease recovery time, and increase performance. Hot Stuff took and all in one, kitchen sink approach to bodybuilding supplements as it combined all the popular supplements of the time such as Chromium Picolinate, Smilax, Glandulars, etc. all in a protein base. Many claimed the early batches of Hot Stuff really worked and might have contained a "secret, illegal ingredient" but that the latter versions of it lost the "boost" they got before.

Boron

It was claimed that studies showed that the trace mineral boron had the potential to increase testosterone levels, and a lot of people bought this supplement based on that claim. But as it turned out those studies were done on postmenopausal women, not on healthy, young, male athletes.

Smilax

Smilax was also sold as a natural testosterone booster that has been gaining popularity in the health and fitness community. It was an herbal supplement derived from the Smilax plant, which has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments. Some studies have shown Smilax may possibly increase testosterone levels, reduce inflammation, and improve overall health, but it's not going to make anyone look like the pro bodybuilders in the ads.

Met RX

Met-Rx was one of the leading brands in the bodybuilding supplement industry. Met-Rx was an excellent source of complete protein for athletes and active individuals who are looking to increase their muscle mass and support their overall health. It was used as a meal replacement or as a post-workout supplement to help replenish energy and build muscle. With its high-quality ingredients, Met-Rx Protein was a great way to get the protein your body needs without sacrificing taste.

Creatine Monohydrate

Creatine is a naturally occurring compound that is found in the body and is used to help build muscle mass and improve athletic performance, it is commonly associated with bodybuilding. Creatine was discovered in the early 1900s, but it wasn't until the 1990s that its popularity began to soar. As more and more athletes, bodybuilders, and fitness enthusiasts turned to creatine as a way to improve performance and build muscle, the supplement quickly became a staple in many people's diets. Creatine Monohydrate is one of the most popular and widely used dietary supplements in the world. It has been studied extensively and has been shown to be safe and effective for people of all ages. It has been around since the early 90s and is still used by many bodybuilders and athletes today.
