Arnold Schwarzenegger is Not a Good Role Model

Posted by: Michael

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a name synonymous with fame, success, and bodybuilding. His accomplishments are not limited to the field of bodybuilding as hes also had a successful career in Hollywood and politics. He's undoubtedly a famous and inspirational figure, but the question remains, is Arnold Schwarzenegger a role model? In this essay, we'll delve into the various aspects of Schwarzenegger's life and determine why he's not a role model.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Career Highlights

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Austria in 1947. He grew up in a rather modest household and pursued bodybuilding as a teenager. Schwarzenegger moved to the United States in 1968 and quickly made headway into the bodybuilding scene, winning his first Mr. Universe title in the same year.

From there, Schwarzenegger's career skyrocketed. He won multiple Mr. Olympia titles, entered the movie industry and starred in several blockbuster hits, and eventually served as the Governor of California for two terms.

Although his accomplishments are undeniably impressive, being a role model requires more than just success. Let's delve into the reasons why Arnold Schwarzenegger is not a role model.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Infidelity Scandals

One of the most significant reasons why Arnold Schwarzenegger cannot be a role model is his infidelity scandals. In May 2011, Schwarzenegger made a shocking public announcement that he had fathered a child outside of his marriage with his house cleaner, Mildred Patricia Baena. The revelation shocked his fans, friends, and family. Around the same time, his wife, Maria Shriver, filed for divorce.

This scandal alone is proof that Schwarzenegger lacks the integrity, commitment, and honesty required of a role model.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Steroid Use

Arnold Schwarzenegger admits to using steroids during his bodybuilding career. This has caused a lot of controversy within the fitness community, as steroids are illegal and have a wide range of negative side-effects, including liver damage, infertility, and psychiatric effects. Steroids can also lead to a false sense of achievement, undermining the dedication and hard work of natural athletes. As a public figure and role model, Arnold's use of steroids sends a message that cheating is acceptable.

Although steroid use was somewhat normalized during Schwarzenegger's era, he's still not a role model, especially to young bodybuilders who look up to him. It's not only a health risk, but it also perpetuates the culture of achieving success at all costs.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Political Misconduct

Arnold Schwarzenegger's tenure as the Governor of California was shrouded in scandals, many of which have permanently dented his reputation. For example, in 2010, Schwarzenegger was accused of having an extramarital affair with an employee on his campaign team.

Furthermore, he has been criticized for championing policies that are not in the best interest of Californians. His record as governor also shows a lack of commitment to workers' rights, and the environment.

Conclusion

Arnold Schwarzenegger is undoubtedly a successful individual, but being a role model means holding yourself to a higher standard. In conclusion, Arnold Schwarzenegger is not a role model, and we should not look up to him as one.
