Few muscles are as impressive as the lateral head of your triceps, it deserve any special attention you give it
Make the lateral head of the triceps a priority in your arm routine
Weather you’re wearing a tank top or a T-shirt, when fully developed, the lateral head of the triceps just pop right out and commend attention. Vince Gironda has always focused on creating an illusion. From whatever angle you look at the arms, a well developed lateral triceps head will only make them look that much more impressive.
Vince’s favorite exercise to bring out the lateral head of the triceps was the single arm behind the neck extension. He was very particular about the execution of this exercise. Make sure you get the dumbbell behind your neck, as low as you can, with the bells touching your upper back. Palm facing forward. Your upper arm should be firmly pressed against the side of your head. Your opposite arm needs to hold your working arm against the side of your throughout the whole movement, never letting it lose contact.
As you extend your arm, keep the palms facing forward, forcing the lateral head to do the majority of the work and hence stimulating it to grow.
Keep the elbows pointing up at all times. Make sure you move through the movement very strictly and feel the lateral head of the triceps working. That’s the key.
Give it an honest try and let me know if you could feel the difference when you used Vince Gironda’s method.
