You don't become a bodybuilder over night and if you think that don't even start reading this article; first you have to lose that fat, then you have to grow some muscles and after you've done all that hard work you still haven't finished with diets because you will need to keep yourself fit and healthy. Let's concentrate first on fat, the fat that hides those great muscles you used to have. Fat is good but in low amounts so we don't hate fat, we just want a balance. Now don't start to throw away that pizza you just ordered because I don't want you to make all the changes at once. You will need to make some little changes from time to time for example start drinking natural juice instead of sweet unhealthy soda. Soda contains sugar and with all those sugar substitutes out there you just have to hope that you won't crave for it anymore.
Another thing you must remember is not to starve yourself, instead of eating a product that contains a lot of calories try to eat something similar but with a lighter amount of calories instead of eating a chocolate try eating some fruits or some sugar free ice-cream. In order to lose fat you will also need to work out but don't lift 500 pounds the first day when you go to gym just to impress your friends, it will be bad for your health and for your reputation when you will fall with the weights.
Eat small meals; don't eat until you are full, count calories to check if you eat too many at the end of the day and you will see that after a few weeks you will feel and look better if you follow these simple rules. So we presume that you already lost some fat and you want to build some muscles. The key is: work, diet, sleep. Before you begin working out you need to see a doctor and make sure that everything is fine and you can work out without damaging your health. Once you do that off you go to the gym but remember that you need to workout using your brain too not only your muscles.
Research first, make a workout plan and if you manage to respect the workout plan you've made some big steps already. Use lighter weights at first and increase weight in time. Don't forget to do a 10 minute warm up before you start exercising, this is extremely important because if you fail to do that you might damage your health and the exercise program can be compromised. There are many diets out there some of them have guaranteed results, some of them don't it all depends on your body and will. From those various diets I tried to choose the most appropriate diets for a bodybuilder.
The Ketogenic Diet
This is one of the most discussed diets in the world. Some say that it will make your cholesterol high, others that you will increase your muscle grow and lose fat but its effects depend on you and how you eat. For people who love meat, this is not a diet, it's a dream come true. The Keto diet it's supposed to give you more energy, increase your fat loss and keep you from feeling hungry. How it works: when your body reaches the ketosis state it will burn more fats and it will start transforming them into energy. First you need to reduce your carbohydrates at minimum, eat more fats then slowly increase the protein intake and reduce the fats. You might think at first: "This diet it's crazy!" but think about our ancestors who ate a lot of meat. They needed to stay fit and slim in order to run and catch animals for dinner. You will have to read all the labels on the products because you never know where those carbohydrates are hidden. If you are a meat lover I recommend this diet.
Vegetarian diet
If you don't like the idea of a Ketogenic you should try becoming a vegetarian. This is not very easy for meat fans but if you want to look good you have to make some sacrifices. You will think now: I want to be a bodybuilder, if I become a vegetarian where can I find all the proteins I need? My answer is: in soy. Soy is one of the most important protein sources. If you are lacto-ovo-vegetarian proteins are easier to get from products such as: cheese, milk, eggs, etc. If you are a vegetarian and you also eat fish, you will find out that fish is a great source of protein too. My point is that you shouldn't lose hope if you are a vegetarian and you want to become a bodybuilder because as you can see there are many ways to get your proteins the non-animal way.
Normal 40% carbohydrates, 40% proteins, 20% fats diet
As the title says your meals throughout the day have to be composed of: 40% carbohydrates, 40% proteins and 20% fats. I'd like to call this the normal healthy diet because everyone knows it and it includes all so you won't feel like craving for meat or carbohydrates. To see results you have to avoid saturated fats and red meat, eat many fruits and drink plenty of water. The most important thing bodybuilders should remember when they are starting a diet is to avoid getting starved. Always eat right, no more or less, because you will see no results. If you eat more, of course, you will get fat and if you eat less you will lose your muscles so find a way in between. Reading this article is useless without your will, it's hard to change your lifestyle especially if you are a fast food addict but in time changes can be made. You will need to perseverate in order to have a healthy life but once you get there it will be easier to maintain on a high position because you will see only benefits.
