Burn Fat by Eating More
There is a conundrum that many people bump into when they try to lose
fat – they start eating too little, and in turn, don't lose fat. The
body panics and holds on to the fat it has when it doesn't get a
steady flow of food.
Thermal Effect of Food
And that's not all – the body's thermic, metabolic rate drops when
too little food is eating. When you eat food the body has to go into
a big production. It has to ingest and digest and eliminate food and
that all adds up to calories being burned – lots of calories being
burned. So the act of cutting way down on your eating in turn cuts
way down on your metabolic rate. This is called the thermal effect of
food and the less food you eat, the less effect you get from the
thermal action. Conversely, the more food you eat, the more active
the thermal effect of food is for you.
So you can burn a lot of fat by the very act of eating. And you can
multiply the effect by eating the right type of foods. What are
they? Eat foods that take a long time to digest, which magnifies the
thermal effect. Eat a lot of fiber. Fiber is one of the top thermal
elements. And eat fats and proteins, which take a considerable
amount of time to be digested and keep the thermal effect running
high.
25-35 Grams a Day
Include in your daily diet at least 25-35 grams of fiber as this will
really make your metabolism work. And drink a lot of milk, as it
has a fat-fighting agent built in to its structure.
You can also increase your thermic metabolic rate by eating more
frequently. Keep your blood sugar running at an even keel by eating
every 2-3 hours, even if it is just a snack. Snack on some nuts
between meals and give your digestion system something to do.
