Food that Burns Fat at Night While you Sleep

Burning fat happens most readily during the day, especially if you work out during that day. But at night the body's metabolic burn rate slows down as the body goes to sleep.

There is one way to change this situation and that is to eat food shortly prior to going to sleep that boosts the body's metabolic mechanisms.

One great food to put in play is beans. Beans are a great tool for burning fat. The macronutrients in beans really act to burn off fat. Beans have a decent amount of protein, which takes longer to digest and burns fat calories in the process.

But that's not all. In fact we haven't even discussed the most important fat burning elements in beans. Chief of these is the carbohydrates in the beans. These are not your everyday carbs, but rather a special carbohydrate. It is a resistant starch carbohydrate. This type of starch is found in a few foods such as potatoes, oats and bananas. What resistant starch does is that it signals your body to start using fat for energy. So having some beans before bedtime will turn on a fat burning switch in the body. Beans contain 5 to 10 grams of resistant starch per cup of cooked beans.

And we are not done yet. Beans are really low in sugar, but high in fiber. That's another equation for long term fat burning.

Beans are a fantastic food for burning off body fat and that effect can be used at night time as well.
