Healthy Homemade Burritos Recipe
Busy Boy Burritos
Do you struggle with eating healthy on the go? Life gets busy,
schedules get tight, and it is tempting to just eat some fast food
and call it good. The problem is that a lax meal approach can blow up
your diet and cover your muscles in unwanted fat.
One great way to overcome the dietary fallout from eating bad food
due to time pressure is to prepare some food ahead of time. Burritos
in particular work wonderful as a food you can make, freeze, and use
throughout the week. One weekend night, put together a few burritos
and fill them with healthy food. Low fat cheese, sweet peppers,
chicken, beans, avocado, salsa, a little sea salt, and other healthy
spices, and make them taste good. Alternate some of the protein
sources in some, such as going with shrimp or lean beef strips. Make
the burrito tasty and healthy, and then freeze several of them.
Take the burritos to work, pop them in a toaster oven and you are
ready to go. Instead of falling back on some junk food, or eating
something on the run that you don't really know what it consists of,
you know for sure that you are getting a healthy, fast food that
will benefit your body instead of tearing it down. And if you are
trying to bulk up, make enough burritos to give you some fuel. Stuff
those burritos with protein – lots of it!
Don't be reactive to a busy schedule that pushes your diet into a
corner but be proactive and plan ahead. Spend a little time making
a weekly pile of healthy burritos.
