Pumping Iron Film Review
Pumping Iron is a 1 hour, 25 minute long film featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno and many other famous bodybuilders. Obviously, this film covers all aspects of bodybuilding, and is one of the best films of all times for those who are interested in bodybuilding.
Pumping Iron is a tremendous documentary that mostly follows four of the world's top bodybuilders as they get in top form for the 1975 Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia titles in South Africa. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno and others are shown doing killer training and attempting to psych each other out as they vie for the top prizes. There are many other well known bodybuilders featured in the film, including Franco Colombu, Ed Corney and Danny Padilla.
Pumping Iron focuses largely on the psychological aspects of bodybuilding, and also behind the scenes mental preparation, as well as family and friends boosting the athletes confidence levels. One of the best parts of this film is the closeness shown between Matty Ferrigno and his son Lou, who is 24 years old and shy. These two men train relentlessly as they prepare to knock Arnold off of his throne as the world's #1 bodybuilder.
