Muscle Spinning Bodybuilding Workout Routine

Can Light Weights Build Muscle?

Q: I'm over 40 and due to injuries can no longer lift heavy. 
My question is can I still use light weights and high reps 
to build muscle size and shape? I'm not trying to look like
Mr. Universe, I just want to look good with my shirt off.

A. Yes, you can still build a body you can be proud of with 
an old school bodybuilding technique called "Muscle Spinning".

Muscle Spinning was a method used the 1940's and 1950's, it 
is actually the use of light weights and high reps, in a very 
strict but rhythmic style. Even though those bodybuilders who 
used this method were not as strong as they looked, they still 
built some very impressive physiques. 

Today, there are still many bodybuilders who use this method. 
While others perform Muscle Spinning movements only on off 
days from heavy lifting to kept their muscles pumped to the 
max.

The Muscle Spinning workout routine involves using light to 
moderate weights for high reps (15 to 20) and doing many sets
(15 to 20) with very short rest periods (30 to 60 seconds). 

Sample Muscle Spinning Workout Routine For Shoulders

Press Behind Neck - 5 sets of 15 to 20 reps
Dumbbell Lateral Raise - 5 sets of 15 to 20 reps
Upright row - 5 sets of 15 to 20 reps

You can do Muscle Spinning all by itself or along with more
