I feel alot better, but my current goal is to lose the aditional 50lbs by December, is that possible? Im currently doing cardio 6 days a week for an hour at a time. My biggest problem is with carbs. Can you tell me if low carbs is the best way to go. Thanks.

Re: TONE AND DEFINATION

Hey Tanner, I used Hydroxycut to lose fat and get ripped, and it worked better the more I exercised. To get your body fat down you need to do more aerobic/cardio exercises at least 3 times a week, while weight training to preserve and gain lean muscle mass.

GETTING READY FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Posted by: chad carr (carrc@enterprise.navy.mil)
Well where to start,I am in the navy right now and will be going back to college next spring. I'm 5'10 but 5'11" hopeful. I weigh 168 lbs right now but have been gaining a solid pound a week since the begining of May due to protein shakes and creatine. I would like to be 185-190 by the upcoming December, to start football not this fall but next. I am looking to gain the muscle and better my 40 time in hopes of playing at the college level. I am looking for a solid 52 week program that can take me to that next level and then some to blow the competition away. I have the drive, and work ethic to get it done. If you have any info to help it would be great. Thanks!

UNEVEN STRENGTH
Posted by: phil (qnbrew88@yahoo.com)
I'm a beginner with this, but whenever i do an exercise say, bench press or military press. Instead of my muscles getting the same amoutn of work. On my right side only my shoulder and arm gets the work out, and on my left side only my pectoral and trapezius get the work out. I imagine its due to my left side being just weaker overall.
any tips on how i can stop this?

NOT SORE?
Posted by: jeremy (jeremy8986@verizon.net)
i am 14 and wiegh about 150 I bench 140 and have been lifting for about 6 months. The first couple months that i lifted i used to get really sore the next few days.( i used to lift everyday) then i started to not get sore (which probably means ur not gaining much muscle, right?) i figured it was due to overtraining so i started to lift only every 3rd day the soreness hasnt come back after a couple of months even when i try exercises i have never done before. any suggestions.

AM I WORKING OUT RIGHT
Posted by: Mike (mvattal@hotmail.com)
I workout evry major body part twice a week. For example, bi+tri on tuesday and friday. However, the excercises that I do on Tuesday for bi+tri are different from the excercises that I do for my bi+tri workout on thursday. I do this so that I hit and train different parts of the arm. I used to stick to just the same workouts evry time, i did that for my first 4 months and I put on about 9 pounds. Now i started this routine and I feel great, but i am working out right? Im only 145 pounds, but im about 5'6 and i look very fit, but im scared that after about 6- 12 months of this training, i wont be able to grow after that, since my body would have mastered several workouts and would not be shocked anymore, or is that impossible since there are so many workouts and so many shock principles to use? Please help, can't you see im going crazy!

DEADLIFTING
Posted by: ShawnV (Paulio101@aol.com)
Even though deadlifting I know can give you a lot of muscle mass very quickly, is it really worth doing? or should i jus stick with having a spotter all the time and sticking with other machines to get me stronger>? I know one guy he used to deadlift up to 350 and now he's starting to have problems with his shoulders n such.....if im going to play a lot of sports in the future is deadlifting the right thing for me or is it all just for show and will i be risking doing critical damage to my body? kinda spooky doing it all by yourself cuz once that bar sinks down you have to know what your doing, my father was telling me a kid that was deadlifting in his basement, once he got the bar off the mount it just dropped down violently on his throat just suffocating his air supply killing him!! i kno the first thing your going to tell me: you have to know what your doing most importantly! plz somebody get back to me on those q's, last yr of wrestling coming up for me and I want to make it count! thanks a bunch.

HOW TO LOSE MY GUT
Posted by: Steve (spazmaticgrandpa@hotmail.com )
I'm a 14 and i am getting ready to play highschool football in the fall. I am around 162 pounds and can bench press 120 and can do 360 pounds with my legs. I can also run the 40 yard dash in 4.6 seconds. My problem is that if i wanna play fullback for the junior team i need 2 get rid of my gut. no matter what i do it still hangs there..what should i do?
Re: HOW TO LOSE MY GUT
Posted by: Chris (Mrsnackwells49@comcast.net)
Hey there steve, its gonna take alot of anarobic exercised to lose that gut. When I had mine i did alot, and when i say alot i mean ALOT of running. Try running on a treadmill 5 days a week for 20 min at full incline. The higher the incline the better. Also do alot of situps/ab exersices to bulk up those abs, so when they start to show they look good. I also went through the large bottle of hydroxycut, it helped me out considerably. I dont kow if this will work for you, but for me alot of running/ab exercises and hydroxycut did the trick. Also you have to eat right. Eating is a huge role in it, eat alot of healthy items, steer clear of bread/pickles/pastas/junk food!

PUSH UPS NOT WORKING
Posted by: Jeff (none)
Over the last four months I've been doing a range of exercises at home, just to build up a little more bulk (mostly resistance exercises as I can't afford to join a gym). Although I have seen a growth in most of the muscle areas that I have been targeting, my chest has not seemed to have developed much at all. I have been doing three sets of 15 push-ups every second day over the four month period and whilst my triceps have developed and my front deltoids have gone beserk, my chest has only toned a little. What am I doing wrong??

ENERGY

i am a 25 year old female. i've been lifting for about a month & a half now. i have always been naturally skinny & i'm lifting to build strength as well as mass. i have a problem with having the energy to lift hard. i like to lift hard, but i get light headed & tired very easily. my boyfriend said something about Hydroxycut, but i don't think that's what i want because it apparently decreases appetite & it's taken me this long to BUILD my appetite.
any suggestions for supplements or something that could give me energy?
i wouldn't mind something that might help me get a little cut, but i'm not interested in steroids.

Re: GAINING MUSCLE MASS
Posted by: Rich P (Racerct67@hotmail.com)
Hey man, I've also ran into the problem of being a hard gainer. It's good that you want to be a natural athlete. My advice to you is to Bench should be 5 sets of 5 reps gradually putting more weight on.
Squats also 5x5 gradually putting weight on every week change your routine to 3x3 pyramid 5x5 then 10, 8 , and 6 reps then back to 3x3. Eat more steak and make more shakes. I put on 40 lbs in 6 months, boosted my bench from 150 to 205, my squat is 185 to 335.

SMALL NECK
Posted by: Robert Atkinson (robert.atkinson1@comcast.net)
I am 73 yrs old, not a weight lifter but in reasonably good shape from excercise regimen for abs and lower body plus light hand weights every day. I have always had a skinny neck and wish to increase its size without doing a lot of presses and working out with heavy weights. I am 5'11" and weigh 150, so I am fairly thin. Any suggestions?
Re: SMALL NECK
Posted by: Dan stull (d2muscle@aol.com)
I personally can say that the easiest way to get a big neck would to try these exercises out...
the 2 easiest being pull ups and push ups
Also try shoulder shrugs while holding dumbells.
The best exersice but also the hardest of these would be a variation of shoulder shrugs. Get a flat bar putting whatever weight you are comfirtable with. Keep your knees straight and slightly lean forward so that your shoulders are over top of the bar then lift up With only your shoulders. Keep your elbows straight.
The first time you do these you will probably be sore for 2-3 days as would anyone who is just starting to work an area. You should see results in 1 week. Good luck
Re: SMALL NECK
Posted by: Erik (burgerdogg_69@hotmail.com)
A good way is to do just like football players warm up their necks. You get someone to hold your head down and you push up as hard as you can and then you get them to pull you head up while you push down and then you put your head against their legs as they push against you. Do this on both sides of your head. If you do these all out you should good results and a mega strong neck.
